MLM Facts Disadvantages And Consequences

MLM Facts: Disadvantages and Consequences

MLM has served the business indistry well. but with every success story told, there are more disappointments than we care to admit. the MLM has become saturated, with its infinite "hiring" and recruitment, it has caused failures in its members to earn money.

Multi-level marketing has evolved full circles many times over. More than twenty years in the running, it has produced multi-millionaires, sent thousands on trips abroad, given brand new cars and helped build dream homes. It was a dream maker, when it started. Offering astounding opportunities to people from all walks of life.

With the emergence of MLM as a practical solution to poverty and unemployment, MLM businesses spurted like mushrooms. Joiners flocked like bees to honey catapulting MLM to fame. As with any other businesses, nothing is permanent or fool proofed. At the beginning, the success turn-outs were indeed impressive but in the long run, reality set in. A single success story is equivalent to ten heartbreaks. What went wrong? Let's take it point by point.

The ability to see the bigger picture in MLM is clouded by the fact that the majority tend to focus on its money-making ability, that the obvious disadvantages and resulting consequences are bypassed if not totally ignored. It's a very obvious impairment that is usually diagnosed too late causing too many failures than we ever care to admit.

The main problem here is the market became overly saturated. Think about it! If you are not among the pioneers in this business, joining a year late or even mere months, you will be competing with millions vying for the same goal. Millions of competitors that you helped recruit.

A single distributor in a binary recruitment scheme, with two active recruits (left and right leg), will each have two more recruits making it a team of eight people. Add two more recruits each for those new recruits and your team is instantly doubled! Yes, a commission is earned for every recruit but that only works beautifully for those on the top of this expanding matrix. It's also a fact that as your matrix grows, the commission thins since commissions are paid only to a certain level. You will probably be left with only your family members as your downlines since the whole neighborhood is already in on it.

Let us not forget that once a downline becomes inactive, you will be left with a non-moving, non-earning leg. Stumped! Just like that. Panic strikes and a series of reactions contributing in a downfall ensues. It's common practice for uplines to place new recruits under the inactive leg. In an attempt to keep the matrix going, most uplines would sponsor someone who doesn't share the passion or believe the cause, creating another inactive downline.

Quotas! Oh quotas! This is another iceberg to the Titanic! A distributor much reach certain quotas to be eligible for additional bonuses (Infinity Bonuses/Incentive Plans). Monthly sales volume requirements must also be met. Every distributor aims for this, pushing them to buy more products than they can sell.

MLM requires effort and perseverance. You must be ready to be dismissed, laughed at and frowned upon. These reactions are normal when offering your business to others. Presenting your business to family members, friends, co-workers and neighbors (known as your “Warm market”) could also have its consequences. The possibility of alienation, disagreement and dispute is not so far fetched. Dispute over failure to generate income is common. Remember, as their recruiter, you are responsible not only to their success but more markedly to their failures.

The bottomline? Use your common sense! MLM is not just about success or getting rich. It may be regarded as a dream maker but the realization of that dream would all depend on you. Accept that these disadvantages are for real, study it...then be ready for the consequences. Knowing what you are getting into and preparing for it is part of the journey.
